Luis Viera on track to represent HD 67, but must get through Lisette Bonano first
The district favors Democrats, and the Republican hasn't done much campaigning. Tampa City Council Member Luis Viera is the front-runner in the race for House District 67, where he aims to replace outgoing House Democratic Leader Fentrice Driskell who is stepping down due to term limits. Viera faces Republican Lisette Bonano, who is running for the third time in HD 67 and faces long odds due to her lack of voter registration and campaign experience. Bonano has raised less than $7,000 for her race, and has since missed deadlines to file required campaign finance reports. Vieras, a lawyer and former President of the Lawyers Autism Awareness Foundation, has raised over $184,000 through his campaign account and as of Oct. 16 retained about $5,000.
