Rays on brink of World Series elimination after brutal showing in Game 3
TAMPA, Fla. - Talking before Monday's third game of the World Series, Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin C... Tampa Bay Rays are on the verge of elimination after a 10-1 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 3 of the World Series. The Rays were hoping to claw back from a two-game-to-none deficit in the World Championship Series, where they were held to three hits and were on the wrong side of an eight-run inning. Freddy Peralta, who had a 7-0 record and 0.89 ERA over his previous 10 outings, was not sharp and it showed from the start. The Brewers broke through for two runs in the third and eight runs in a 17-pitch span, the most in a World Series game. This was only the second time in postseason history a team scored at least eight runs with two outs.
