Tampa and Nashville Launch Joint Accelerator for 15 HealthTech Startups

Tampa Bay Wave and Vanderbilt Health launch a two-city accelerator for 15 startups focused on mental health, addiction and health care. Tampa Bay Wave is expanding its healthcare accelerator beyond Florida, partnering with Vanderbilt Health to bring 15 startups from across the country into a joint program in Tampa and Nashville. The 2026 HealthTech|X Accelerator will connect the companies with researchers, clinicians and investors in both cities, allowing them to explore clinical research partnerships and license university-developed technologies. The companies selected include San Diego-based CARI Health, which uses technology to monitor medication levels and help doctors personalize methadone treatment for patients recovering from opioid addiction, New York-based Laptis, and Boston-based Elevare Health. The accelerator will open in Tampa on Oct. 28 before moving to Nashville on Nov. 2, with virtual programming connecting the two in-person sessions.
