Review: ‘Hamilton’ in Tampa still captures some of the original’s live magic
I’ve waited more than a decade to see a moment in the first act of “Hamilton. ” It’s a moment that showcases my favorite character — the revolving stage. The hit musical, "Hamilton," has been performing in Tampa for nearly three weeks at the David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa. The show, which tells Hamilton's political rise and fall through rap and hip-hop, was reviewed for its energy and optimism, despite being a time capsule from 2015. The cast's performances, choreography, costumes and acting choices remained consistent, if not nearly identical, to the first Broadway production. The reviewer praises the performances of Tyler Fauntleroy, Deon’te Goodman, Noah Kieserman, Christian Magby and Eddie Ortega, and Hercules Mulligan in explosive songs like "Guns and Ships" and "Yorktown"
