Baker Mayfield vs. Panthers Week 7: Three Expectations for Buccaneers QB
Baker Mayfield is back from a dislocated thumb in Charlotte, but Emeka Egbuka and Luke Goedeke are out, and that changes who he throws to and how fast. Baker Mayfield is expected to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the Panthers, despite a recent dislocated thumb that forced him to miss three games. Mayfield practiced fully and is listed as questionable, but Todd Bowles confirmed that he is ready to play. The Buccaneers are without Emeka Egbuka and Luke Goedeke, who are also out due to injuries. Chris Godwin Jr. is expected for at least eight targets, while Will Lee III is expected primarily to play due to injury. The Panthers' defense is weak, with Princely Umanmielen leading with three sacks and a 76.6 PFF pass-rush grade. Tampa Bay is a three-point underdog against Carolina.
