PALMETTO, Fla. (WFLA) — First responders were at the scene of a fiery crash on US-41 early Friday morning.

The crash happened in Palmetto at about 2:35 a.m. in Palmetto at the intersection with Piney Point Road.

An 8 On Your Side camera crew caught sight of smoke coming from a semi-truck that was involved in the crash.

Southbound lanes have been shut down as first responders work to clear the scene and put out the fire.

Little information is known on the casualties in the incident.
