Steak Shapiro: Tampa Bay-Milwaukee World Series Will Be A "Disaster" For Baseball, FOX Sports
"There's another term called make goods, which is you guarantee an audience. I don't know that they'll hit the audience they're guaranteeing." Steak Shapiro, host of 92.9 The Game's Steakhouse program, has predicted that the Tampa Bay-Milwaukee World Series will be a "disaster" for Major League Baseball and FOX Sports from a business standpoint. He believes FOX Sports could fall short of its own viewership projections with advertisers. Shapiro's show, SteakHouse, has focused on the NBA, WNBA, and NFL instead of focusing on the World Series. Despite these predictions, it remains unclear what audience FOX guaranteed advertisers for this series. However, larger markets have consistently delivered, with Dodgers-Yankees averaging 15.8 million U.S. viewers in 2024 and Dodgers-Blue Jays last year.
