A bicyclist was airlifted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. — A bicyclist was seriously hurt in a hit-and-run crash Thursday evening in Tarpon Springs. Now, police are searching for the driver responsible.

Tarpon Springs police say the crash happened around 5:10 p.m. at the intersection of E. Orange Street and Levis Avenue, near the First United Methodist Church. The driver reportedly fled northbound on Levis Avenue.

The bicyclist hit was airlifted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police are asking for the public's help finding a gray sedan with front end, hood and windshield damage.
