ZooTampa at Lowry Park welcomed a baby Malayan tapir, part of endangered species. See photos of its spotted and striped coat. Tampa has welcomed a baby of an endangered species, Malayan tapir, born at the ZooTampa at Lowry Park in March 2024. The Malayan Tapir is an extremely rare species. The baby was born with spots and stripes for the first six months of its life. The 13-year-old Malayan tir named "Albert" fathered a calf born at a nearby zoo in 2024.
